What Kind Of Education Do You Need To Be A Medical Assistant?
Most Medical Assistant professionals become one after obtaining a certification in the field. There are no formal education requirements as of now. Most medical assistant training is three months or longer. Medical assistant courses vary from a total of a few weeks to two years, depending on the certificate or diploma you are earning. It might be a good idea to graduate from a medical assisting program (certificate or diploma program or associate degree program) that is accredited by either, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). These courses are recognized by the most organizations including the American Association of Medical Assistants. Candidates who have completed their training form one of the recognized courses are eligible to apply for the Medical certification exams whose certificates are nationally recognized.
